Caroline Sanchez Crozier – President and Founder
As the leader of CS&C responsible for business development and strategic partnerships, I am recognized as a visionary in the field of instructional technology. My unwavering commitment to quality, community service and excellence in education have been acknowledged in several publications as well as through numerous local and national awards, including the prestigious Small Business Person of the Year Award conferred by the U.S. Small Business Administration (1993). I was also honored at the White House during President Clinton’s tenure. I am an active board member of the Illinois Literacy Foundation, the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), and ProMexico.
An immigrant from Mexico, I developed a passion for learning at an early age, and was the first person in my family to earn a college degree. After earning my degree, I became a certified public accountant (CPA) and held various financial positions in a variety of major corporations, including McDonald’s Corporation and Deloitte & Touche. With the encouragement and support of my family, I became an entrepreneur and founded CS&C. The company has grown, and today, employs a dedicated team of over professionals who serve clients, primarily in four Midwestern states and in Mexico.
Roger Sanchez M. Ed. – Lead Education Consultant
An interest in computers, coupled with a desire to help students succeed prompted me to earn degrees in computer science and education. I also earned the bilingual teaching endorsement and the Orton-Gillingham certification.
I have ten years of experience in professional development with expertise in planning and implementing instructional technology programs designed to assist school districts implement researched-based reading, mathematics, and ESL interventions as part of their goals to support at-risk students, RTI and Special Education programs. As a DIBELS and IDEL trainer for the Chicago Public School District, I have also provided training and consultation to school districts across the state. In addition, I have conducted training for the Department of Labor at several Job Corps sites across the county.
I work at CSC Learning because I share the company’s mission of partnering with schools to help students succeed. My passion is in the area of reading and assessments to support at-risk students. CSC Learning’s focus is to help teachers and students through the use of research-based programs in order to change the students’ trajectory by helping them improve their skills so that they become competent and successful learners.
Katherine Katsafados, M. Ed. – Director of Professional Services
In my thirty-five years as an educator, I have been a classroom teacher, reading specialist, and literacy coach. Among other leadership positions, I also served as the leader of a Literary Instruction Team.
I am passionate about helping to advance student literacy, and I appreciate the opportunity to help teachers support student success in this area. I am committed to the vision of CSC Learning and am pleased to be able to share my expertise in literacy training with such a visionary company.
Christine Peterson – Education Consultant
My passion is helping students fulfill their potential, which has always guided my teaching. In addition to teaching a variety of grades and subjects, I have also been an RTI coordinator for a small rural school in central Illinois. After my tenure as a middle school teacher, I began teaching graduate courses in education as an adjunct professor at the University of St. Francis.
Working with the dedicated CSC Learning team is very rewarding because I have the opportunity to work with teachers and to continue my life’s work of helping students learn. I look forward to working with you to ensure that your students find success and joy in learning.
Jane A. Montes, Ph.D. – Education Consultant
The focus of my entire professional career has been devoted to meeting the language, learning, and assessment needs of English Language Learners (ELL and promoting their overall success in bilingual education, English as a Second Language (ESL), in the general education program. I am passionate about ensuring the equal education opportunities of all students, especially among ELLs and those ELLs with special needs.
My career in bilingual education spans more than thirty years; includes a doctorate in Education, and the position of Clinical Associate Professor in Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago. During that time, I prepared bilingual education teachers in my ongoing role as a university teacher educator, led urban schools and bilingual education programs as a bilingual school administrator. Moreover in my role as a Dual Language/ELL Consultant, I provided interactive professional development on research-based instructional practices for ELLs to teachers, administrators, and parents in school districts and educational agencies.
Becoming a CSC Consultant offers me a new opportunity to provide equitable education for all students, especially ELLs, including those with special needs. My interest in inquiry-based teaching, learning, and assessment practices, which promotes standards-based academic language and learning, complements CSC’s mission to provide services maximizing differentiated instruction through technology-centered learning and state-of-the-art, web- based learning solutions.
Ana Gil – Education Consultant
My professional career has emerged from K-21 classroom teaching, training teachers to be the future school leaders to research development. I have a doctoral degree in educational leadership from Western Michigan University, a master degree in curriculum and instruction, a specialization in curriculum for middle schools, and a secondary science teaching bachelor degree. My academic and administrative experiences have accumulated from classroom teaching, acting superintendent, acting college department chair, and associate provost of academic affairs.
My education portfolio includes national and international experiences that have contributed to my rich agenda of publications and presentations on topics related to educational leadership, bilingual education, reading comprehension, and international comparative education. I prepare future educational leaders to lead urban schools by infusing pedagogical contents based on the student population needs and on the research outcomes of data generated by the multiple programs that those schools offer to mitigate the students’ achievement gap.
CSC Learning’s experience and expertise in digital learning that help transform classrooms and enhance school leadership adapts well to my professional goals and objectives in relation to the education of populations in need.
Jean DeFrancesca – Senior Project Manager
After a successful career in the insurance industry, I decided to use my experience in Project Management in the private sector. As a seasoned project manager, who is certified in Microsoft Project and has a consistent track record of success in the management and implementation of critical projects, I am proud of my reputation for high quality and on-time delivery in challenging situations.
Having had experience in the management of hundreds of projects from initiation to implementation in collaboration with all levels of management including CEOs, Presidents, and Vice-Presidents, I felt this would bode well in navigating between different groups to be of help in satisfied their individual needs.
At CSC Learning my duties as project manager include all aspects of customer support, including setting up pilot programs and coordinate training, tracking projects and accounts, professional events, and assisting in producing materials and sales support to the education consultants.
Having the opportunity to use my training and problem solving with strategic and tactical skills to support the vision and work of a dynamic company such as CSC Learning is very rewarding, and I am pleased to be associated with the professional team in this forward-thinking company.
